Bajaj Auto Ltd. did not make the changes to the Chetak design that they had originally planned to make. The 2006 Chetaks, with the exception of the new logo, are identical to the 2004 Chetaks in appearance.

Fortunately, this is not a bad thing. Many customers and dealers voiced their dislike for the changes Bajaj Auto had proposed; particularly the "Roman Helmet" front fender from the Legend and the loss of the rear mounted spare tire. The classic remains a classic.
